May is National Mental Health Awareness Month.

May 13, 2025

May marks Mental Health Awareness Month, a time to spotlight the importance of mental well-being and reduce stigma around mental health challenges. This annual campaign encourages open conversations, promotes self-care, and highlights resources for support.

Mental health affects how we think, feel, and act. Nearly 1 in 5 adults in the U.S. live with a mental health condition, yet many hesitate to seek help due to stigma or lack of access. Raising awareness helps normalize these struggles and fosters a supportive community.

Small Steps for Big Impact
  • Practice Self-Care: Prioritize sleep, exercise, or mindfulness activities like meditation or journaling.
  • Check In: Reach out to friends or family to share how you’re feeling or ask how they’re doing.
  • Seek Help: If you’re struggling, consider talking to a therapist or exploring resources like the National Alliance on Mental Illness (NAMI) or the 988 Suicide & Crisis Lifeline.

Break the Stigma

Share your story or listen to others without judgment. By talking openly, we create a culture where seeking help is seen as a sign of strength, not weakness.

This May, let’s commit to nurturing our mental health and supporting those around us. Small actions can spark meaningful change.
