Mongoose RM™ Best Practices Update | Blizzard Advisory.

Feb 22, 2026

A Blizzard Warning and Coastal Flood Advisory are now in effect across portions of the Northeast and Mid-Atlantic regions. Severe winter weather is expected to create dangerous and potentially life-threatening conditions, including heavy snowfall, strong winds, whiteout visibility, and coastal flooding in low-lying areas. These conditions may result in hazardous roadways, limited visibility, power outages, and operational disruptions.

Required Safety Actions & Best Practices

Safe Driving & Operations

  • Restrict Travel: Travel is discouraged and should be limited to emergencies only. If travel is necessary, carry a winter survival kit.
  • Stranded Vehicles: If your vehicle becomes stranded, stay with the vehicle.
  • Distraction-Free: Set all mobile devices and in-cab technology before departure; distractions are strictly prohibited while in motion.
  • Scanning & Spacing: Increase following distance to 12–15 seconds and scan at least 15 seconds ahead to anticipate hazards.
  • Equipment Safety: Suspend crane and lifting operations during high winds. Monitor frozen ground instability and equipment brittleness due to extreme cold.

Fuel Distributors & Delivery Services

  • Prioritize Customers: Give precedence to automatic delivery, contract customers, and emergency no-heat calls.
  • Site Access: Advise customers to clear snow and ice from fill pipes, vent pipes, and exhaust/intake piping to ensure system safety.
  • Proactive Scheduling: Confirm deliveries before tanks reach critical levels to prevent runouts during the storm.

Coastal & Flooding Precautions

  • Flood Zones: Do not drive around barricades or through water of unknown depth in coastal areas.
  • Property Protection: Take immediate action to protect flood-prone property in anticipation of the Monday morning high tide.
