Energi successfully hosted over 800 participants at this year’s Risk Management and Insurance Summit in San Antonio, Texas. The 2014 Summit featured over 100 speakers and presenters from various sectors of the energy industry and insurance industries, along with 27 sponsors and vendors which created a unique networking experience for policyholders, brokers, and strategic partners. The Pioneering the Energy Industry theme took the attendees back in time to the original pioneers of the energy industry and to the future of the industry which happens to be many of the attendees.

 

Energi introduced new state of the art concepts and ideas with 30 Educational & Training Sessions focused on Industry Best Practices, Risk Management and Alternative Energy. This year the General Sessions focused on the issues facing the Energy Industry today including Cyber Security, Energy Independence and Health Care Reform. Leading industry experts and government officials gave their insight and knowledge on the topics.

 

The Summit App which enabled attendees to view the Summit agenda, their own personalized schedules, session locations, speaker names and companies, sponsors, photos, transportation information, and a full directory of attendees.

 

The Summit opened on Monday, October 6th with an opening reception at Knibbe Ranch. Attendees were able to enjoy an evening of live country music, southern traditional barbecue, mechanical bull riding, a full rodeo and fireworks.

 

On Tuesday, October 7th, Energi’s CEO, Brian K. McCarthy, began the Summit with the Energi Today Session. James Townsend, Chairman of the Board and CEO of Townsend Energy provided Opening Remarks discussing the growth of Energi over the years.

 

On Wednesday, October 8th, insurance commissioners from six states were featured in the Health Care Reform & Its Regional Impact General Session. In between 23 educational breakout sessions and the Safety Fair, industry and policy experts were featured in the US Energy Independence by 2020 and the Effect on our Overall Economy Lunch General Session. The Alternative Energy Solutions division hosted a one-day event focused on the latest technological innovations in the building and energy sectors. Pioneering Resiliency: Building Performance and New Energy Opportunities Day introduced Energi policyholders and strategic partners to new opportunities from evolving energy systems that can enhance and benefit their businesses.

 

On Thursday, October 9th, Matt Light kicked off the morning with an inspirational address about his experience playing for the New England Patriots. In the afternoon, President George W. Bush, the 43rd President of the United States, captivated the audience with a question and answer segment that was moderated by Brian K. McCarthy.

 

On Thursday evening, an Award Ceremony was held to acknowledge Energi’s Risk Management Award Winners, Claims Management Award Winners and Innovation Award Winners.
